Holiday Buy: Amazing Cabernet

Everyone enjoys a good glass of Cabernet this time of year. With the holidays upon us, we searched out a fantastic bottle at intersection of pedigree & price that’ll leave tastebuds impressed. From the winemaking rooms at Whitehall Lane Winery in Napa, we offer you the latest iteration of their Rassi Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2022 is a Sonoma bottling whereby the the Leonardini Family utilizes decades long relationships with top tier growers.

Crafted at the hands of Whitehall Lane’s longtime winemaker, Jason Moulton – this Cabernet is nothing short of exceptional. There should be zero surprise given the combination of this estate’s reputation for quality and this winemaker’s cunning expertise with the varietal. Jason learned viticulture in New Zealand and has traveled the globe honing his skills in key wine regions, including Bordeaux. After settling in Napa he served in several key roles, both assistant winemaker & cellar master behind iconic Valley winemakers’ Philippe Melka and David Ramey. If Napa had a “Mount Rushmore” of Winemakers, these two would assuredly be fifty percent of the photo opportunity.

Whitehall Lane’s Rassi Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 is a showcase bottle of California wine. It embodies all we enjoy in the region – full body, ripe cassis fruit, savory touches of herb, toasty, if not creamy oak elements. The aroma fills the room, the flavor fills the palate and at this price … you can keep filling glasses.
