Spiced Porto Spritz

It seems these days there are more and more Spritz recipes surfacing and to kick off the holiday season we decided to offer you our own take on a fall/winter Spritz. The Spiced Porto Spritz is our own creation made on a foundation of Ruby Port. To this we add St Elizabeth’s Allspice Dram, tart pomegranate juice and then spritz it up with club soda and Spanish Cava. St Elizabeth Dram is a delightful blend of steeped aromatic baking spices that give the Spritz its distinctive fall twist. Pomegranate juice adds a dose of acidity to tame the sweetness in the Port while the effervescent elements brighten up the glass and bring a festive touch. Finish it with a simple twist of orange and you have an easy, four-ingredient Spritz that can be make up a’ la minute to rave reviews from family and friends this holiday season.

Spiced Porto Spritz

In a large red wine glass filled with ice add:
  • ¼ Ounce St Elizabeth’s Allspice Dram
  • ½ Ounce Un-Sweetened Pomegranate Juice (we used Pom-Wonderful)
  • 2 Ounces of Ruby Port
Top with equal parts Spanish Sparkling Cava and Club Soda.  Garnish with an orange peel twist.
