Sparkling Violet Margarita

Spring is here and violets are in bloom.  This beautiful, perfumed flower plays a great role in today’s clever cocktail.  In a simple variation on the classic Margarita, we add Crème de Violette liqueur for a floral note and finish the drink with a bit of club soda to add a spritz which keeps the whole thing light and lively.  It is a perfect spring sipper and a fun cocktail that will take you all the way through summer.  

Sparkling Violet Margarita

In a shaker glass filled with ice add:

• 1 ½ ounces of Blanco Tequila
• 1 Ounce Cointreau
• ½ Ounce Crème de Violette
• 1 Ounce Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice

Shake and strain into a sugar rimmed cocktail saucer.  Top with a good splash of club soda.  Garnish with a lime wedge and/or dried lavender flower.
