We don’t often think of Gin in the fall season but looking to dust off our bottle of London Dry we came across a recipe for Gin and Earl Grey tea served up with tonic. The addition of an Earl Grey tea simple syrup to an old school G&T adds new dimensions of spice to the classic. The heady aromas of Bergamot, added sweetness and delightful richness the tea lends to the drink, will keep you sipping these Earl & Tonics right into the winter.
Earl & Tonic In a tall Collins glass filled with cracked ice add:
Top with Well Bred Tonic Water (we like Fever Tree). Stir well to combine, garnish with a lemon wedge.
*Earl Grey Simple Syrup In a small saucepan add:
Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer and reduce syrup by 1/3. Add three earl grey tea bags to syrup, stir, cover and steep for 10 minutes. Discard tea bags, chill simple syrup (will keep for 7-10 days refrigerated).
